I was referred to Mike Nopper from a family friend when she heard that we had tons of 'handy man' jobs to get done around the house. Mike responded quickly to our inquiry. He came out to the house, met with me. Listened to all of my minor repairs and wish list items to get done around the house... he then emailed me an itemized and very clear bid of every item we discussed. He even included photos of an additional idea that HE had come up with after seeing a wall that we needed to be repaired. I loved his idea so we went with it (along with all of the small handyman items). He is very articulate about his work. Cleans up daily (which was a huge bonus since I have small kids in the house) and we found his pricing to be very reasonable for the work ethic and perfection he carries about his work. We will absolutely have Mike out again in the future as we continue to update and remodel things around the house. Mike is trustworthy and all-around a great guy!
The windows were old and drafty and just hard to clean, I was totally over it. A call to the home remodel company 5 miles away solved my problem. They emailed me a worksheet, so I could have a guesstimate of expense and asked for dates to begin. I consulted with my husband, found the cost manageable, and scheduled the improvement. As one crew removed the old windows and recycled what could be recycled, the next crew checked the frames and installed the new windows. The transformation was amazing, the process painless, and my energy savings have been impressive.
Mike Nopper of Artisan Design and Remodeling did a great job from start to finish on our bathroom remodel project. He's a small business, which we preferred after meeting with a couple of other companies. Mike was personally involved in all aspects of the job, from the initial meetings, design, discussions, job changes, picking out fixtures, demo, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc., etc. In short, he was involved every day in all of the details of the work from start to finish He was patient and helpful as we worked out the details to find the design we were looking for to fit the period for our 1930s home. Throughout the project, Mike was very professional and has high standards, which show in his work.
We highly recommend Mike for your design and/or remodeling needs without exception.
I met with two bathroom remodeling companies in order to find the right company for my job. I've had bad luck with contractors in the past and didn't want to go through that pain again.
Mike Nopper from Artisan Design and Remodeling listened to my needs and concerns regarding my bathroom remodel. He made me feel the most comfortable while explaining the reconstruction process and answered all of my (several) questions. He ended up completing the remodel and everything went just as planned. I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone that needs a bathroom to remodel.
I was on a desperate hunt for someone who could do a cabinet modification because we got a new cooktop that didn't fit in the old one's space. I called Mike and he quickly returned my call. I described what we needed and could quickly tell he knew what he was talking about because he asked a few meaningful questions about the layout of the drawers, cooktop, regulator, and countertop cutout. He confidently said that he could do the job, including installing the cooktop, at a reasonable price. Even though it was a Sunday he agreed to come over a couple of hours later!
The job turned out to be a little bigger than expected, ie the clamp nail did not reach the countertop; the new plug didn't fit in the hole the old one did; the top of the drawer hit the regulator, etc. Mike found clever ways to address all of these issues and fit our custom cutlery trays with the new configuration. The job took longer than expected with these issues but Mike had a lot of patience and addressed each one with great care and ingenuity. He didn't charge me extra, and seemed genuinely appreciative when I gave him a little extra than quoted.
Mike is such a nice guy, and ended up answering questions I had regarding other issues and ideas we have for future remodeling. In fact, he suggested that I wait on fixing one cabinet (shelves are bowing) until I remodel the kitchen to save money as it would be really expensive to just do one thing, and gave me ideas to reinforce it in the meantime.
If you need a cabinet modification MacGyver, Mike is your guy!!
Mike was wonderful! He removed our hardwire dishwasher and installed the new one! Despite issues that arose while removing the old one, Mike was persistent and finished the job while making pleasant conversation. He was very efficient and flexible with the time of the job because the new dishwasher was delivered within a rather large time frame that the delivery company had set the night before.
I called him on Wednesday and he got the job done on Thursday!
He provides a great service for a fair price and I definitely will be calling him again!
I've known Mike Nopper, for at least 15 years, and when I got completely OVER my bathtub/shower situation, I reached out to Mike. He was patient in listening to my design goals, helped my husband and me find beautiful tiles using his contractor discount, and worked with us every step of the way. Clearly, he knew what he was going. His tile guy, Tim, was meticulous, detailed and on time. His work was outstanding, as was Mike's. The two of them worked together with us in the last minute making decisions as we went along so that we felt in total control of the job.
We've heard so many nightmare stories about contractors, so finding a dependable, trustworthy builder is a gift. We strongly recommend Artisan Design and Remodeling for any job. You won't be disappointed!
I called Mike to get an estimate on repairing a scrape and gouge that appeared on our front door just after the movers had left. Time was of the essence as we were listing our home for sale the next week. Mike was responsive and cooperative every step of the way.
The mover would not honor my claim but not fixing the door was not an option and when I called Mike to schedule the repair, again there was only the can-do attitude and he scheduled me within a couple of days.
The repair job was as pleasing as the rest of the transaction and I am totally happy with the results. The impression that the prospective buyers get is going to be that we must have just installed a new front door because the new paint smell is there but I think thats actually a good thing.
Thanks for a first-rate customer centric experience, Mike. A real treat in this day and age.UsefulFunnyCool
Mike Nopper of Artisan Design and Remodeling did a FANTASTIC job on our complete kitchen remodel. We had a grandma's kitchen; we now have a top-of-the-line contemporary European-style custom kitchen. Mike was not only cheaper than everyone else who bid the job, but he listened to what WE wanted and followed through with it, so that we ended up with a kitchen that exactly matched our style and aesthetic sensibilities, not to mention our culinary and entertaining needs. When we experienced unexpected problems (that happens when you open up walls and ceilings to expose beams that--oops!--should not have been supporting beams!) he always resolved those problems within a day, which at least twice meant rebuilding structural elements. When our cabinet supplier turned out to be a dud (Warning: Cardell Cabinetry--run away, run away!), he contacted everyone involved and resolved the problem to the best of his abilities. When the granite for the peninsula arrived, he took one look at it and headed under the house with gigantic supporting joists to compensate for the extra weight he knew it was going to put on the floor boards. Almost a year out now, we love our kitchen more every day.
